... start your week, end your weekend, finish your short trip, transition into fall... This post could have many titles. Whichever you chose, these would be my top 5 how not to's:
1. Attend an AMAZING wedding in Mexico: entertaining church service, gorgeous bride, smitten groom, delicious food, Mariachi and Latin music, a hacienda full of partying Mexicans, a constantly crowded dance floor, lots of craziness and an incredible fiesta! Rounded off by a stop at a club, a nightly swim in the hotel's rooftop pool and a fantastic brunch the next morning. This is way too beautiful and surreal to ever allow you to get back to reality.
2. Spend your weekend with your closest friends from college and realize how much you miss them. It all feels so normal and then - BAM - you suddenly have to say goodbye. I hate farewells. Or maybe I'm just too emotional.
3. Waste your cross Atlantic flight with writing a paper about marketing tactics for Fast Moving Consumer Goods on the Indian subcontinent instead of watching cool movies - just to get a C from the professor as you didn't realize there were questions to answer and your paper turned into a complete sales pitch rather than a sober analysis with numbers... Grades are overrated anyway.
4. Decide that your free Wednesday would be a perfect day for a visit to the dentist's, who in turn decides it's a perfect day for a root canal treatment. It never is a perfect day for the dentist nor the treatment. Still on painkillers.
5. Wake up to a cloudy and chilly autumn Thursday after Wednesday was still perfectly sunny and felt like summer. Autumn winds and rains have found their way back into Barcelona - summer now definitely seems to be over. Guess I'll have no choice other than to dig out my warm jacket and get back to cases.
