Tourist sins

Dear diary, please forgive us as we have sinned today. We took a tourist bus called Inka Express from Puno to Cusco, stopped at three different places to visit a museum, an archaelogical site and a colonial church with a tour guide and a group of gringos, we had lunch at a mediocre tourist restaurant and we stopped at La Raya pass to take pictures and buy souvenirs. The worrying part is that the bus ride was actually quite enjoyable (apart from the noisy French and German travel groups) as we first drove through impressively bald pampa landscapes on the Puno side and then suddenly found ourselves surrounded by rolling green hills and lush vegetation after passing La Raya at 4,400m altitude and entering the Cusco region. The archaelogical site at Raqchi was a former Inca Temple whose remains are still quite visible, and the colonial church of Andahuaylillas was simply overwhelming with abundant frescos and an enormous golden baroque altar. Can we be forgiven?
