Life in a Case Study

In late 2007, a young Hungaro-German consultant decided to reposition and adjust the 4Ps in her marketing mix. In surveys and self-testing she had realized the third P of the mix, i.e. Place, represented a major bottleneck, so in agreement with her CFO & CEO (Mum & Dad) she decided to relocate to a more convenient location (Barcelona) in order to strengthen her knowledge position. Senior management responded positively to her initiative and fully supported the Spanish move, so she was able to quickly carry out the transaction and successfully merge operations with two strong international players, Mareike GmbH and Shweta Ltd., in summer 2008.

The new joint venture established their headquarters in a carefully chosen and strategically relevant location and effectively used the short period before going public to coordinate and settle administrative, fiscal and legal concerns. Muntaner Roomies Inc. made a smooth market entrance and gained reasonable market shares in the first month of operations. Despite the fragmented market analysts predict continuous growth as the company stabilizes operations. In order to ensure sustainable development the team now needs to decide how to allocate their resources most efficiently...
Beware: this is what half a week of case studies can do to you... Another 695 cases to go! :-)
